YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” - Acts 2:42
Looking for Christ-centered friendships and authentic community?
Want to grow in your faith and have fun?
St. Peter's Young Adults (SPYA) is a community of young men and women, ages 18-39, dedicated to forming Christ-centered, life-giving relationships that combat and heal the culture of isolation.
We do this by gathering together to pray, study our faith, and to serve those in need. We also have regular lowkey social and game nights to deepen our friendship with each other.
If you want to get involved, or if you have any questions, please fill out this form!

Love & Responsibility Summer Series
1st & 3rd Tuesday in June, July, and August
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm • Church of St. Peter, Forest Lake (Annex)
Our next focus will be a summer series called “Love & Responsibility.” It is based on St. John Paul II’s Love & Responsibility as presented by Dr. Edward Sri (Augustine Institute) in his book Men, Women, and the Mystery of Love. Acknowledging that most of us are desiring to make friends, we wanted to give the foundations of what it means to be a friend, what is true love, and help establish a Catholic / sacramental view of emotions, dating, chastity. We’ll also discuss the importance of discernment and encourage individuals to be open to discern marriage / the priesthood / religious life.
Logistically, we will be going through 2 chapters of the book at each session. In an effort to support those that are working, don’t like reading, etc., we’ll compose and present a summary of the text before breaking out into the men’s/women’s small groups.
Love & Responsibility (2024) Series Topics:
June 4 - “The Three Kinds of Friendship / Beyond the Sexual Urge”
June 18 - “Avoiding Fatal Attractions / Sense & Sentimentality: The Proper Role of Emotions”
July 2 - “The Law of Gift: Understanding the Two Sides of Love / Love & Responsibility? Building Trust, Intimacy, and a Mature Love”
July 16 - “Resenting Chastity: The Current Crisis / The Battle for Purity”
August 6 - “To Inspire Love: A Return to Modesty / Men, Women, and Tenderness”
August 20 - “How Contraception Harms Love / Foundations for the Theology of the Body”
